Hedera (HBAR) has seen a 5% increase over the week; however, it has faced a downturn of nearly 4.5% in the last 24 hours, with trading volumes decreasing by 25%, amounting to $241 million. This recent dip aligns with various indicators suggesting a decline in momentum, including a significant drop in the BBTrend and a decreasing Relative Strength Index (RSI) that is nearing oversold levels. The price remains trapped between critical support and resistance zones, while the Exponential Moving Average (EMA) lines still exhibit a bullish configuration, although the shorter-term averages are beginning to trend downward. The future direction of HBAR will likely hinge on its performance within the $0.191 to $0.202 range in the upcoming sessions.
Weakening Trend Strength as BBTrend Dips Below 6
The BBTrend for Hedera has significantly decreased to 5.95, a sharp drop from 16.48 just three days prior, indicating a notable slowdown in trend strength. Although it has remained in positive territory for the last five days, this rapid decline points to a potential waning of the bullish momentum supporting HBAR. A falling BBTrend often indicates upcoming periods of price consolidation or reversal, especially when accompanied by other indicators showing reduced volatility or trading volume. The BBTrend indicator gauges the strength of a price trend using Bollinger Bands, which are volatility-based envelopes that are plotted around a moving average. An increase in the BBTrend value suggests a strengthening trend, while a decrease, as seen with HBAR’s current reading, indicates a loss of momentum. Continued decline in this value may suggest Hedera is entering a sideways or corrective phase unless new momentum arises.
Declining Momentum as RSI Falls Below 40
Hedera’s RSI has sharply fallen to 39.75, down from 59.88 just two days ago and a recent peak of 82.53 five days earlier. This rapid decline signals a significant loss of bullish momentum and a change in market sentiment, as traders seem to be retreating after a period of overbought conditions. The current RSI is positioned just above the oversold threshold, signifying that bearish pressure has been mounting swiftly over the past week. The Relative Strength Index is a momentum oscillator that ranges from 0 to 100 and is used to evaluate whether an asset is overbought or oversold. Readings above 70 typically indicate overbought conditions and potential corrections, while values below 30 suggest oversold situations and possible recoveries. With Hedera’s RSI now at 39.75, it is approaching oversold territory without crossing it yet. If the RSI continues to decline, further downside might be expected; however, if buyers step in at current levels, it could result in a technical rebound.
HBAR Faces Potential Breakout or Breakdown at Critical $0.191–$0.202 Range
Hedera’s price is currently consolidating between essential technical levels, facing resistance at $0.202 and support at $0.191. The EMA lines still reflect a bullish outlook, with shorter-term averages positioned above longer-term ones, suggesting that the overall trend remains intact. However, the short-term EMAs are starting to trend downward, which raises the possibility of a bearish crossover known as a death cross, potentially confirming further downside. If HBAR were to break below the $0.191 support level, it could fall further to approximately $0.169 and possibly $0.153 if selling pressure escalates. Conversely, should the $0.191 support hold and buyers re-enter the market, HBAR may attempt to retest the resistance at $0.202. A breakout beyond that zone could lead to a bullish continuation, with upside targets set at $0.215 and $0.228. If momentum remains robust, Hedera could challenge $0.258, marking its first breach above the $0.25 threshold since early March.
